Song of the Shirt was composed with a poetry written by an English poet Thomas Hood in the 19th century. The story is about aseamstress who needs to work as if she were a machine: in cold December, in a dimly lit room, she doesn’t have energy to go to church or sing Christmas carols. She might hear Christmas celebrations from outside, but that is a different world from hers, where life is cheaper than clothes.
